CustomVue LASIK
The Neo Laser Medical Spa was the first exclusive laser center
in Brevard and the first to bring affordable LASIK to the Space
Coast. Each of the physicians and team members at Neo Laser Medical
Spa are certified by the laser manufacturer to be intensely skilled
and knowledgeable about the laser and the LASIK procedure.
The Neo Laser Medical Spa offers CustomVue™ custom LASIK
and Epi-LASIK at our surgery centers. CustomVue™ uses Wavefront™ technology
to precisely map the individual differences in each eye. The
Wavefront™ scan is 25 times more accurate than standard
methods used for glasses and contacts. An Excimer laser then
reshapes the cornea to treat nearsightedness, farsightedness,
and astigmatism.
The Neo Laser Medical Spa makes LASIK affordable to free yourself
from the hassle of glasses and contact lenses. We offer complimentary
consultations, and finance plans are available to fit any budget.
How does LASIK work?
LASIK is the most commonly performed refractive surgery procedure.
You may hear people calling it "LASIX," but the name
is actually short for "laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis."Why
is it so popular? LASIK has advantages over other procedures,
including a relative lack of pain afterward and the fact that
good vision is usually achieved almost immediately, or at least
by the very next day.
LASIK (Laser-Assisted Stromal In-situ Keratomileusis) is a popular
refractive surgery procedure used to treat patients suffering
from myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness),
and astigmatism. The procedure is a combination of keratomileusis,
which involves cutting of the cornea, and Excimer laser photoablation,
which uses a laser to reshape the surface of the eye. The cool
ultraviolet beam of the laser delivers a preprogrammed number
of pulses to correct and reshape the exposed surface of the
eye. The corneal flap is then put back into place where it
heals without the need for stitches.
How is CustomVue LASIK different from traditional LASIK?
CustomVue LASIK is an exciting, specialized way to help patients
get the near perfect vision they’ve always dreamed of through
LASIK surgery. The corneal mapping, sophisticated FDA-approved
lasers, and high-tech computer software utilized in CustomVue
LASIK allow us to potentially correct vision to a precise degree.
CustomVue Laser Vision Correction with Iris Registration was
developed by VISX. This Refractive surgery is considered to be
the most precise form of LASIK available.
During a LASIK refractive surgery consultation, a WaveScan device
is used to measure imperfections in the individual’s vision
with the greatest precision possible. A detailed map of the patient’s
entire visual track is created. Like a fingerprint, this map
is completely unique to each individual. The information on the
map is then transferred into the laser and used by our physicians
to customize the LASIK procedure.
